Variety of vegetable oils
When the term “vegetable oil” is found in a culinary recipe, the traditional for modern Russian cuisine sunflower and olive oils first come to mind. Then the corn floats in the memory, followed by rapeseed and fragrant sesame, still exotic coconut and very useful flaxseed. In fact, the range of edible vegetable oils is very wide. And each of them deserves special attention.
The most common sunflower oil – the traditional helper of many housewives – is significant for a healthy diet, rich in vitamins and able to regulate the body’s fat balance. Unrefined sunflower oil is very fragrant and serves as a wonderful dressing for summer vegetable salads.
Olive oil
One of the most famous cooking oils – and by right. Its use in food has a beneficial effect on the state of the blood vessels and the heart, the digestive organs. It is recommended to use it for people with pressure problems. Olive oil is a great addition to vegetable salads, suitable for frying. Cold-pressed unrefined oil is especially appreciated.
Sesame seed oil
Pleasant sweetish taste and light texture are not the main advantages of sesame oil. Rich in minerals such as calcium and zinc, the oil helps prevent osteoporosis, heart problems and the vascular system. Sesame oil has proven itself as a component of sauces and dressing for salads.
Flax Seed Oil
An important component of the diet, flaxseed oil is rich in Omega-3, known for its antioxidant properties. For this reason, the oil is recommended for pregnant women. Also, scientists have found: regular use of healthy flaxseed oil significantly reduces the risk of stroke. In pure form or mixed with a base of sunflower or olive, linseed oil is added to cereals and dressings for soups, as well as in salads.
Rapeseed oil
Undeservedly overlooked in Russia, rapeseed oil has gained fame in Europe as an important assistant in the complex of preventive measures and treatment of atherosclerosis. Rapeseed oil is unpretentious in storage, does not lose its transparency for a long time. This is an excellent base for mayonnaise, various sauces and marinades.
Grape seed oil
A valuable product, a tablespoon of which contains a daily rate of vitamin E, has a pleasant taste with a nutty note. The powerful antioxidant effect of the oil has a beneficial effect in the use of oil in food, and when applied to the skin. In cooking, the oil is also significant – products, fried with the addition of grape seed oil, are impregnated with a pleasant aroma and acquire a spicy taste.
